According to a report from blockchain analytics platform Santiment, the number of Bitcoin wallets holding 100 or more units has hit a 17-month high. The increase is driven by significant growth in whale wealth over the past month. Over the past month, more than 283 wallets holding at least 100 Bitcoins were created, bringing the total to 16,120. Sentiment attributed the increase to “rush” selling from smaller retailers to larger players following the recent price drop. Furthermore, the number of wallets holding at least 10 Bitcoins is also growing. In total, whales and sharks have collected 133,000 Bitcoins (about $7.6 billion) over the past 30 days.
