Digital currency activists and investors are planning to raise more than $100,000 for Kamala Harris, the United States vice president and 2024 presidential candidate. The move is aimed at pushing Harris toward a more lenient approach to cryptocurrency regulation. Cleve Mesidor, executive director of the Blockchain Foundation, revealed that tickets to the event cost between $500 and $5,000. The goal of the campaign is to stimulate discussion about how to promote innovation in digital currencies and improve access to capital for ethnic minorities. While Harris has yet to make an official statement on cryptocurrencies, her campaign’s top policy adviser has indicated that Harris would support policies that help the emerging tech industry grow. However, some, like Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson, are concerned about Harris' possible victory and its impact on the cryptocurrency industry in the United States.
