TonCoin, the native digital currency of Telegram’s Ton (TON) blockchain, has resumed producing new blocks after an outage of nearly six hours due to increased network traffic. This long pause in producing new blocks has raised concerns about the stability and security of the Toon network. The possible cause of this issue is the DOGS Token Airdrop (DOGS) on the Toon blockchain platform, which led to a surge in transactions. The Toon network struggled to meet the high demand and expected number of transactions per second (TPS). After this event, the Bybit exchange temporarily stopped withdrawing and depositing TonCoins due to network instability.du
Recently, the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France also led to a drop in the price of TonCoin. Prior to the blockchain outage, Ton's price had been rising against the general market trend over the past 24 hours, while other major cryptocurrencies fell 4% or more.
