Vitalik Buterin Denies Claims of Selling Ethereum for Personal Use

Vitalik Buterin co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) has denied rumors that he sold millions of dollars worth of Ethereum for personal use. He claimed that since 2018, he has only sold his Ethereum holdings to support various cryptocurrency projects and charitable causes. The backlash came after a member of the crypto community on social network X accused Butrin of selling over $2 million worth of Ethereum (800 ETH). Buterin stressed that he never sold Ethereum for profit and only did so to financially support Web3 projects and charities. Buterin recently defended Ethereum against claims that the blockchain is not focused on decentralized finance (DeFi), emphasizing his desire to see practical and sustainable applications.
