According to Firstpost, the UAE has suspended the contract to buy 80 French Rafale fighter jets in protest over the arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram. First Post published its report based on information from the Russian website Avia.pro. This Russian source also indicated that there is a possibility of a complete halt to military cooperation between the UAE and France. Meanwhile, the UAE government had asked the Telegram CEO for immediate access to the UAE embassy in protest over Durov's arrest. It is worth noting that Pavel Durov, the Russian creator of the Telegram website, currently holds the citizenship of the UAE and France.
