McDonald’s Instagram Page Hacked and Scammed for $700,000 Using Fake Token

By infiltrating McDonald’s official Instagram page, hackers earned over $700,000 Solana (SOL) by promoting and scamming a coin called Grimace. They posted to their 5.1 million followers pitching the fake token as a McDonald’s experience on Solana. The hackers initially bought 75% of the total token supply and split it into about 100 different wallets. The token’s market cap reached $25 million within 30 minutes, but dropped to $650,000 after the hackers sold it. The hackers also changed the site’s bio and mentioned their success in earning $700,000 on Solana. McDonald's acknowledged the incident and apologized.
