MakerDAO, one of the largest and oldest DeFi lending platforms, has rebranded to Sky and introduced new tokens. The USDS stablecoin and SKY governance token will be launched in place of the Dai (DAI) and Maker (MKR) tokens. Holders of these tokens can convert Dai to USDS at a 1:1 ratio, with each MKR at 28,000 SKY. New tokens will be issued starting September 18 (Shahrivar 28). Rune Christensen, founder of MakerDao, said that the purpose of this action is the enormous growth of the DeFi field. USDS and SKY holders will be rewarded via the Sky.money app, but this feature is disabled in some countries such as the US and the UK. Christensen said these changes will be implemented after testing and a gradual increase in user numbers.
