Tron founder Justin Sun has pledged to donate $1 million to each decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) created to free Telegram founder Pavel Durov. The move comes after Durov was arrested in France for complicity in crimes related to inappropriate content on Telegram. Prominent figures in the cryptocurrency industry, including Elon Musk, Vitalik Buterin, and Robert Kennedy Jr., supported Dorf’s release with the hashtag #FreePavel. Musk criticized the growing censorship in Europe, Butrin expressed concern about the future of software and communications freedom, and Kennedy went on to emphasize the importance of protecting freedom of expression. Edward Snowden also called Durov’s imprisonment an attack on fundamental human rights in the areas of freedom of expression and association.
