Brazil’s Supreme Court is considering a decision that could lead to the social network X (formerly Twitter) being banned in the country. The move comes after X withdrew its legal representatives from Brazil in response to the threat of arrest by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Moras gave X 24 hours to present a new representative. Elon Musk, the owner of X, has refused to comply with the court’s requests, which also include censorship and privacy concerns. This could have a significant impact on the Brazilian cryptocurrency community, as 34.4% of crypto traders and investors rely on information from X, according to a CoinGecko survey. While users can use VPNs, it is possible that the ban could extend to these services as well.
