The Base Network, Coinbase’s Layer 2 solution, has hit a record 1.05 million daily active addresses thanks to a significant increase in user interest in using the network’s Basename service. This figure shows a 60% increase in daily active addresses since early August. The Base Network now has more daily active addresses than several other protocols combined. This record was reached after the launch of the Basename service on August 21 (August 31). Base Network Director Jesse Pollak revealed that over 200,000 Base.eth usernames were registered in the first week of the new service’s launch. In addition, financial activity on the Base Network has also grown. According to DefiLlama, the total transaction volume on the basenet has increased over the past five months and now accounts for 9.25% of the total transaction volume of decentralized exchanges on the Ethereum network.
